A Few Thoughts on the Stories I Write
I am fascinated by people who are broken by their life experiences and who struggle to recover their lives and themselves.
Borders intrigue me. Borders defined by an invisible, small black line lying on the ground. Or borders in the mind of those trying to recover, where the fear of crossing is so great.
Humor—the ability to laugh at the risk of the unknown. Humor is courage. It permits the individual to try again after failure.
Friendship—The support of others may be the most essential. Friendship allows one to know that others trust you.
The combination of those struggling to recover on dangerous borders, armed with humor, provides rich opportunities for conflict, change, and new beginnings. These are the stories that I write about.
